We finally got the result of the NBA all-star list on Jan 30. Houston's Yao Ming from China was a determined starter for the second time.

  北京时间1月30日凌晨消息，2004NBA全明星投票结果终于出炉，中国球员姚明最终力压“大鲨鱼”奥尼尔，连续两年当选西部全明星队首发中锋。

In the colsest race of this year's voting, Houston's Yao Ming narrowly edged the Lakers' Shaquille O'Neal for the West's Starting center position. While O'Neal received more electronic votes from fans around the world, Yao defeated O'Neal by outpacing him on paper ballots that were distributed inarena, at movie theatres and at retail stores where balloting was available in the United States and Canada.

在姚明和湖人队明星奥尼尔的激烈竞争中，奥尼尔在来自全球的网络球迷投票中领先姚明，但姚明则靠线下投票（只在美国和加拿大区域内的球场、电影院和零售商店内的投票等）的优势最终反超奥尼尔，连续两年当选西部首发中锋。这个结果表明，姚明的票数并不象人们想的那样，纯粹是靠中国国内的球迷在网上疯狂投票而得来的，他在美国和加拿大地区同样获得了球迷的认同和支持。
